Make A Difference In Ha Giang

Hey there! Im medical student from Germany and had an wonderful opportunity to do a internship here . I ve been here for 2 weeks and here what I've learned : the stuff and doctors are very kind , they had sometimes difficulty to talk in English but they did the best with Google translate and very helpful in any situation! ( Special thank you to chi 😊) . The canteen food are very tasteful. Doctor are highly skilled, the hygiene is in a good standard. And the region is just so beautiful!!

Our medical volunteering experience at Duc Minh Hospital in Ha Giang was truly unforgettable and one of the most meaningful experiences of our lives. From the very first day, we were welcomed with incredible warmth, kindness and generosity. Everyone at the hospital — doctors, nurses, staff and management — was extremely friendly, patient and genuinely willing to teach us. They took the time to explain cases, answer our questions, show us different procedures and involve us in discussions, making every day an opportunity to learn something new. From a medical perspective, the experience was fascinating. We had the opportunity to see a wide variety of interesting clinical cases and to better understand the types of pathologies commonly encountered in this region of Vietnam. Being able to observe a different healthcare system and medical practice was extremely valuable for us, both professionally and personally. We were particularly impressed by the hospital management. Everything was very well organized, and the people coordinating our experience were exceptionally attentive, supportive and generous. They constantly made sure that we felt welcome, comfortable and included. But what made this experience truly special were the people. Despite the language barrier, we always felt their kindness, openness and genuine desire to share their knowledge with us. We came to Vietnam hoping to learn medicine, but we are leaving with much more than that: wonderful memories, new perspectives, gratitude and a deep appreciation for the people we met here. Duc Minh Hospital gave us not only a remarkable medical experience, but a unique life experience that we will carry with us for a very long time. We are deeply grateful to everyone who welcomed us, taught us, helped us and made these weeks so special. Thank you for your professionalism, your generosity and, above all, your kindness. We will always remember Duc Minh Hospital and Ha Giang with great affection. ❤️

I am very satisfied with the volunteer program offered by the hospital. It has been a valuable and enriching experience, both professionally and personally. I really appreciated the opportunity to learn from the medical staff, observe the healthcare system, and gain practical experience in a different environment. The staff have been welcoming, supportive, and professional throughout the program. Overall, I am very grateful for this opportunity and would definitely recommend this volunteer program to other medical students.

We had the most wonderful treatment at this hospital after my husband fractured his skull and split his head open requiring 10 stitches in his forehead. The hospital had a Cat Scan and X-ray machine to facilitate his diagnosis and treatment and his forehead wound was sutured with great expertise so that there is now very little evidence of the cut which went right through to his skull. For the purpose of the hospital providing thanks to the surgeon concerned the patient ID was 2600018034 on the 12/4/2026

I had a motorcycle accident on the Ha Giang Loop. I felt safe and taken seriously at all times in this hospital. The surgery on my leg went well and the wound was stitched very carefully. The medical staff is very friendly. There are doctors who speak English. Most of the medical staff do not speak English, but everyone used Google Translate, and communication worked very well because of that.

I had a accident with the bike. Fell on my knee and went for cleaning the open wound and checking ligaments. Some doctors speak English, I was treated very very well, I was surprised by how fast and good equipped they are. I had an amazong doctor young woman who spoke English very well. It was so fast and easy, definitely recommend for a checkup. I got a MRI for my knee and CT for internal organs because of the crash, also a blood test. It was 2.000.000 dong but I got a proper check up not just X-Rays. The only thing I am not so happy with is the cleanliness of the place in general and the toilets. But everyone was so nice and made such an effort to translate and to keep me informed and calm, I am really grateful. Also got prescription for paracetamol and medication for the wound.

I can highly recommend this hospital, my son fell ill with meningitis, while he was out traveling. The care he received was outstanding. Whatever medical procedure he needed he got instantly. We had to use google translate a lot but we managed. I was in the uk and had to get out there, I was updated all the time and they even arranged a car from the airport which is a 6 hour journey. So the doctor who was amazing was My linh Chi Truong, my hero, she did joke with me at one point at leaving a 5* google report when the insurance company said they were moving him, she discharged him, then the insurance company changed their minds so he stayed so a lot of paperwork later, he was back under their care. One happy mother
