Nurturing Mental Well-being – Helping Children Understand Their Emotions
On August 2, Duc Minh General Hospital organized a Mental Health Education Workshop for children of hospital staff aged 11–16, with the participation of the Hospital’s Board of Directors, Vietnamese volunteers, and international volunteers currently working at the Hospital.

Through ice-breaking games, group discussions, and scenario-based activities, the participants learned how to recognize and manage their emotions, strengthen communication skills, and respond positively to academic pressure, conflicts with friends, and school bullying.

A highlight of the program was the “Secret Message Box,” which created a safe space for the children to express their worries, pressures, and thoughts that were difficult to share. Every message was received with empathy, respect, and sincere advice.

In addition to the workshop, the children practiced foreign-language communication, explored different cultures with international volunteers, and visited several local villages. These practical experiences helped them become more confident, strengthen their connections, and build new friendships.

The program concluded with a simple yet meaningful message: "Sharing emotions is not a sign of weakness; it is the first step toward understanding, loving, and caring for oneself."
