The children received a full range of health services, including ENT (Ear, Nose, and Throat) exams, cardiopulmonary checks, and valuable lessons on oral hygiene and self-care. The program also included 7 X-ray cases, with 38 children receiving treatment advice. Common diagnoses included pneumonia, otitis media, and sinusitis, and 30 children were advised for surgical treatment.

A positive impact

The humanitarian health program is a collaborative effort involving healthcare professionals, educators, and local authorities. By working together, they aim to provide comprehensive healthcare services to children who might not otherwise have access to these essential resources. This initiative highlights the importance of community partnerships in achieving significant health outcomes.

Beyond medical treatment, the children received gifts from the hospital, creating a memorable experience. The program has not only improved the children’s health but also raised awareness about self-care and school health.

A Vision for the Future

Duc Minh’s program will continue its efforts in other communes of Vi Xuyen, with plans to reach Tung Ba and Thanh Thuy communes by the end of 2024. The hospital remains committed to expanding the program, ensuring more children across Ha Giang receive access to essential healthcare.

This initiative proves that prevention and education are key in shaping a healthier future for the next generation in Ha Giang.
